There is no such thing as shrinking to grow. They are just shrinking, because they didn't structure a business that can survive the times.

The area of Detroit I grew up in is a Wasteland. The Shopping Mall closed, then the retail stores not in the mall. Last time I visited, there was no place to shop anymore. Wayne county Detroit is turning into a WASTELAND - shame.

Many businesses were failing miserably pre Covid for a variety of reasons and are now using it as a way to close or downsize gracefully. I look at surviving and thriving post Covid as something to be very proud of. SmallBusinessStillGettingItDone
