Australian media companies have written an open letter calling for the government to finalise a bargaining code to have Google and Facebook pay for news by the end of the year.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has promised to table the legislation in the final parliamentary fortnight.

The joint letter has been published in every major newspaper and is co-signed by the heads of News Corp Australia, Nine and Seven West Media.

They don't take your news though. This is a blatant money grab by a failing New Corporation.
