Brexit has led to a collapse in the UK's trade with its European neighbors.

The reason for their silence is becoming increasingly obvious. In the few short months since Britain left European trade and customs rules, there has been a dramatic decline in UK trade., with exports down by 40.7% compared to December and imports from the EU down by 28% in the same period.Food & Drink Federation published last week

In fact for some smaller businesses, the piles of paperwork, bureaucracy, and export health certificate checks that are now required to trade with Britain's closest trading partners now make it very difficult to export anything at all. However, many leading business figures believe that Brexit's impact will be permanent, with Adam Marshall, the outgoing director-general of the British Chambers of Commerce,A lot of small businesses have been shut out completely - Dominic Goudie, head of international trade at the Food & Drink Federation,"If you have a problem with one single item in that entire lorry it delays everything else," Goudie told Insider.

Sales of many lower-value items have, in many cases, simply become unviable. Simon Spurrell, the co-founder of the Cheshire Cheese Company, stopped exporting his packs of cheeses to the EU, which were priced at around £30, because each parcel needed to be accompanied by £180,He said he had been advised by a minister to simply focus on exporting to other markets instead.

AdamBienkov Once great trading nation being brought to its knees.

curiocat13 Obviously, as was repeatedly predicted and ignored for 5 years.

'nobody could have predicted...' said the conservatives about what everyone else predicted would happen.

Ummm, no. That would be the pandemic that caused it. Not Brexit.

Racism caused England to decent downward

AdamBienkov We've seen nothing yet. Boris Johnson is now taking you through the Gates of Hell. You all need to have a good think about your futures.

What a load of piffle, the economy has been kicked from pillar to post for 12 months now due to Covid restrictions. Who would of thought that collapsing small businesses for that amount of time would of had a detrimental effect 🤔

What's up with Boris's hair? It looks like he just woke up from a bad hangover.

PoliticsInsider Taking Britain out of the EU has been the most treacherous and undemocratic act in modern history.

InsiderIntl What initially was a protest vote against a Tory incumbent Government, has turned into an absolute disaster for the common people of Britain. So it looks like Brexit was not all it was cracked up to be? It was a beautifully wrapped parcel, with nothing in it Pandora.

So basically the thing that every non-white nationalist/nativist economic commentator said would happen...is exactly what happened. Who'd a thunk that cutting urself off from a mutually beneficial trade relationship solely for unfounded socio-cultural reasons would end badly

AdamBienkov Business Insider is fall of rabid Remainers like Adam Bienkov who have failed to notice that reshoring will be the global trend for the next decade.

sazmeister88 Plenty of Brexiteer voters like the disasters, it makes their lives more exciting, and they can deny everything and enjoy winding people up, and talk about 'kicking the elites out of the uk'. Etc etc

Covid is destroying businesses; no one is producing anything. Of course exports of food are down if there's no restaurants open, really lazy link

BIUKPolitics tory brexiteers knew this would happen, & lied about the scale of the impact they call it collateral damage

Hohoho hahaha 🎅🏻

sazmeister88 But we can have bananas any shape we want! Well... if we get them. Also something about... blue passports that are more limited... what was the good side to Brexit again exactly?

AdamBienkov Elect liars expect lies. The truth finally coming home to many. Not like they were not warned.

load of BS. it has only been 12 werks since we came out if the EU. Britain is already better off Wait until the European Central bank starts issuing CBDC then the EU counties will get a real taste of what life would be like under German rule. bitcoin the people’s money
