“At the same time, we should also look at allowing vaccinated tourists to visit Malaysia without having to go through a quarantine period from October onwards, with compulsory bookings through travel agents,” he told reporters in a press conference via Zoom today. He also requested for a tax waiver to be extended to all travel agents for five years from 2021 to 2025, since that is how long the tourism industry is expected to take to recover, as well as another round of one-off cash assistance to tourism players.

“In addition, these bus operators need to pay a high insurance fee for tourism vehicles , which ranges from RM1,000 to RM10,000 per year, even though the buses are not operational,” he said. “With the announcement of the MCO 3.0, the tourism industry is almost 100 per cent paralysed... there is no growth when interstate and the international borders remain closed, plus it’s been reported that a few popular destinations, including Langkawi, have become like ghost islands with no tourists and suffering huge losses,” he said.

Temporarily, you can support the government by making the hotel as covid positive quarantine facilities. While the transporter, can support pos laju, j&t, dhl etc. to speed up the good/parcel delivery

Why so dunggu🤦🏻‍♀️ No one wants to visit Malaysia with the dire situation the country is in now la wei! We haven't even achieved herd community so it's not safe for tourists...vaccinated ones included!

Selfish business concern. They don't pay to contain the pandemic.

Woi..experts r talking abt total MCO to contain the rising cases…what part of containment n mitigation which u dont understand!!!😡

Jahanammmm 😒

Cases goin up…not being able to control Vaccination process slow… But already talking about opening borders for tourism… Do something properly for God’s sake..

Stupid fellow here the Rakyat yet to be vaccinated wanna open border to various varieties of COVID is it

they do realize that we barely able to get our case under control? what nonsense is this?

Another stupid decision! Take 14 days for vaccines to kick in and that's assuming we have enough vaccines. Right now we don't even have enough supply for ourselves. What ifbthere is a new varirant n current vaccines not effective? U turn lah normal lah

Tourism will be dead for 2 years
