Large infrastructure projects need to know whether the two-week construction ban will end on time so sites can be prepared for workers to return, according to NSW Master Builders Association Executive Director Brian Seidler.

“Parts of the industry, particularly the residential sector may be able to simply pick up tools and walk onto site but large infrastructure projects … need a whole lot of time to get sites up and running,” he said.

“If we’re to open the industry at the end of the two-week period we need some knowledge, some advice that we can start getting things together on site so we can actually start the jobs on the Monday. “The big issue for us is the government has to say we are going to open, not that we get a review at the end of next week and say we need another extension.”
