Hah... I believe DS Zahid realise the implication of his proposal. Such a merger will result in the dissolution of Umno. Since the proposal is supposedly in the interest of Islam, Umno can't reject the Syura Ulama council which 'guides' the party. Warlords won't have a say.

An Umno-PAS merger will be the ultimate slap in the face of MCA,MIC, Gerakan,PBB and PPP. It will fly in the face of their ever loosening spirit of cooperation. It will relegate these component parties to the status of unwanted and unloved step children. They should get a divorce
