The Hawks in Limpopo say their investigations led to the discovery of many vehicles hidden on a farm that was allegedly used for drug manufacturing in Marble Hall, for two years.

The High Court in Polokwane has granted the Hawks and the National Prosecuting Authority in the provinceLimpopo Hawks Spokesperson, Matimba Maluleka says drugs worth over R10 million were seized and two suspected drug dealers arrested.

“While the members were conducting further investigations, they found a lot of vehicles that were hidden on the farm. The court has given the Hawks Forfeiture Unit authority to preserve the assets including the farm Pigeon Game Farm situated in Tswakraal in Marble Hall until the outcome of the forfeiture proceedings is instituted.”

Meanwhile, the Gauteng Education Department is concerned about a growing trend of learners consuming so-called space cakes or space cookies. Earlier this month, eleven Grade 12 learners from Randfontein High School, west of Johannesburg, were rushed to hospital after they had consumed space cakes sold to them by another Grade 12 learner who was then suspended.

Two days after this incident, four learners from Mamellong Secondary School in Tsakane east of Johannesburg were also hospitalized after consuming these cakes.
