Readers comment on the passing of Max Glauben; recommend voting for Joe Jaworski as attorney general; believe Russia will respond only to force; believe more will come out to vote this year; would like to see the U.S. shift away from using oil.

With the number of Holocaust survivors declining with every passing year, I cannot begin to emphasize how special it was for Glauben to share his story and charge us to remember the horrors of the Holocaust in order to prevent another such event from occurring. The death and destruction throughout Ukraine prove that the territorial ambitions of an autocrat like Russian President Vladimir Putin cannot be stymied with sanctions, regardless of severity. Oil and gas, Russia’s economic lifeblood, are global commodities. Absent a worldwide embargo, an unrealistic expectation, Putin’s soldiers won’t miss a paycheck.
