OPINION: There won’t be any radical moves by the ASX under new chief executive Helen Lofthouse, who tells Chanticleer she is happy with its performance and culture.

As an executive with seven years of experience at the ASX, Helen Lofthouse brings a number of advantages to her new role as chief executive, replacing Dominic Stevens.

Lofthouse’s role as head of markets, which takes in cash equities and derivatives trading, as well as rates and commodities products, will become vacant in August. This is the largest business operating under the ASX umbrella, and it requires someone with a lifetime of experience in financial markets.

“I think that we have a good culture here,” Lofthouse says. “We have a very positive professional, collegiate environment. And, absolutely, people are encouraged to speak up.
