The federal government has asked the private sector to weigh in on how companies could play a role in Canada’s national dental care plan.
The program is a key part of the confidence and supply deal the Liberals signed with the NDP to stave off a potential election until June, 2025. In a statement, Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos says the responses from various companies, along with consultations with provinces and territories, will inform federal decisions about how to proceed.

It will never happen. Dentists have a very strong organization and it is not likely they will accept this. More paperwork and who pays the dentist the high fees they now earn. Free dental care is pie in the sky.
My two kids had their teeth coated at an early age and neither have suffered the cavities that I had drilled and filled as a kid. This procedure is cheap and it works. Free annual dental care and cleaning for all up to age 18 is a no-brainer in my books.
