Petrol companies have been accused of keeping prices high despite falling wholesale costs

The RAC said the wholesale cost of unleaded - the price when it arrives at forecourts - is now back down to its early May price of 131.75p per litre, which saw average pump prices of around 167p per litre.

RAC fuel spokesman Simon Williams said: "July has been an unnecessarily tough month for drivers due to the big four supermarkets' unwillingness to cut their prices to a more a reasonable level, reflecting the consistent and significant reductions in the wholesale cost of petrol and diesel.

This means drivers filling up at the end of July average of 183p per litre could be paying almost £9 a tank more than they should be.

Heard 'Nadine' on LBC. Enjoyed the interview but if you listen back, you'll find she said 'Kind of' at least 50 times! (Why is everything 'kindov this' or 'sortov that' these days?!) (Fillers!) She also said, 'You know' a lot! We DON'T know, which is why we listen to you!!

. I am shocked, shocked I tell you, that oil companies make such profits on the 35% they take from the price we pay at the pump But on the plus side, the Govt still gets 46% of the price we pay at the pump in fuel duty and VAT, so there's that, I suppose.... CostOfLivingCrisis

The whole fuel crisis is a SCAM Governments pouring money into UkraineRussianWar is funded through revenue.

The unacceptable bottom line is energy company's profit's have hugely risen while we plebs are being fleeced with massive increases causing the 'Cost of living crisis.' If cornerstones of Capitalism fail to exercise responsibility their freedoms will be lost: State price control.
