A small business lobby group says commercial bankruptcies are rising in Canada and even more small businesses are at risk of closure.

Statistics Canada data shows small business insolvencies have been on an upward trend since May 2021.

But the Canadian Federation of Independent Business says its own survey data indicates only 10 per cent of Canada's small business owners would file for bankruptcy if their business was no longer solvent. It says 46 per cent of business owners say they would simply stop operating rather than go through the bankruptcy process.

The CFIB also says more than one in six Canadian small business owners say they are currently considering going out of business. The lobby group wants government support to help Canada's small business sector get through the next few months and deal with challenges like pandemic-related debt and supply chain issues.

Cfib 😂 they still around

It's elementary to think this is a coincidence.

Wait for the uptick in personal bankruptcies due to privatization of health care

Most companies that fail do not go formally 'bankrupt' because there are no assets that need a bankruptcy trustee to administer and liquidate. The company just shuts down.

Dead Fukking Last

First free subsidies then back to back instant rise in interests rates this was coming!

Yup this is all on your governments and your MSM garbage. Well done objective reached with all your ridiculous lockdowns.

All these failed businesses took all the subsidies including the $100,000.00 interest free loan. Each of these businesses you see closed down took the one hundred thousand dollar interest free loan and will not have to pay it back. Mind you 40k of the 100k no one has to pay back.

'uptick in bankruptcys'😂😂😂 As tho anyone w/ an ounce of brains wouldn't foresee the demise of Cda's econ/standard of living/liberty, [& upcoming famine] by shutting down FreeWorld for 2.5yrs. On acct it was known Mar2020, c19s 99.9 recovery bug clearly the[global]intention

Asset sales after winding down and selling off units, if owned, is on steroids in GTA. And hammer now falling on drawn out rental appeasement done at beginning of pandemic. The dominos falling. Won't be in stats can fake numbers. But public service growing exponentially!

How many of these 'bankrupt' companies took all the govt covid subsidies that were offered, banked the money and then declared bankruptcy?

This is exactly what demon Trudeau/WEF wants

Actually, locking those businesses down was the 'tip of the iceberg'
