came to light. He then phoned ex-ministers whose portfolios he encroached on, such as Josh Frydenberg, to apologise directly.
Pressed on whether a future inquiry will examine Hurley’s conduct, Albanese did not give a direct answer, saying: But the PM added that Hurley had made it clear in his statements that he had no reason to think the appointments would not be made public. The PM went on to say that he has directed the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet to work with the Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General to adopt a practice of publishing any future appointments of ministers to additional departments in the government’s Commonwealth Gazette. He said this action would occur immediately and did not require further advice, but the government would consider “whether any further immediate changes are required”.
“I think one of the things we will need to consider is any future legislative changes to make sure that that is enshrined. To make sure that it is not dependent upon the goodwill of the government of the day.”Solicitor-General Stephen Donaghue has found that former prime minister Scott Morrison was validly appointed to administer the. But the fact it wasn’t made public “fundamentally undermined” the conventions of responsible government.
“Nor is there any constitutional or legislative requirement for notification of such an appointment as a condition of its validity or for the minister to subscribe to another oath or affirmation following such an appointment. Accordingly, Mr Morrison was validly appointed to administer [the industry portfolio] on April 15, 2021.”
Solicitor general's scathing report on Morrison power grab. Fixed it for you. CostelloRag GutterMedia
Amend the constitution at the next earliest opportunity to prevent Centralisation of Power by Narcissistic Messiah individuals.
'Scott Morrison was validly appointed to the resources portfolio' The rest is political self-serving witch-hunt nonsense.
BroedeCarmody Australia’s gas fired recovery but not in the Prime Minister’s election back yard
All these comments, if it was a Labor PM who did this they’d be hell to pay. Why the secrecy, why didn’t he trust his ministers.
Cue the witch-hunt
So Albo isn’t happy with the legal advice and now wants an inquiry. When they going to start managing the more pressing issues?
Note: 'Actions were inconsistent with responsible government', so all those far-right cookers saying Albo should hold up... What to you want, chaos and anything goes behaviour... yes you do. All in gods name perhaps?
This is bias reporting. News should be truths. Morrison has been caught out being corrupt and un-Australian. I'm sure Albo would rather be moving forward then having to deal with prior failed governments.
So, the Solicitor General says it's legal, though it's unorthodox. And AlboMP won't drop it. If you were in Opposition AlboMP you might keep sniping hoping to score some political points. But you are PM now, at least for next 3 years. How about leading? Deal with the issues.
Albo still trying to beat this up (when he's not partying with the 'young' people in Enmore).
It is clear that democracy has been unable to heal its own shortcomings until today. At the same time, the system with the ultimate goal of winning the election is also very detrimental to the healthy development of the country! We must admit this indisputable fact.

Well derp. Perhaps Albo can start governing now instead of being preoccupied with a ghost.
It's not over for AlboMP . This whole blown up saga has shown Albo's true colours. auspol AusPol2022
