The 30-stock index closed down 20.10 points, or 1.33$ to 1,491.95.

jumped 52 sen to RM26.70, Heineken added 50 sen to RM24.08 and Perusahaan Sadur Timah gained 37 sen to RM4.27.

Jade Marvel, the most actively traded counter, tumbled 38.61%, or 19.5 sen to 31 sen with 108.86 million shares done. Meanwhile, US light crude oil fell US$1.70 to US$97.85 a barrel and Brent lost US$1.86 to US$93.78 per barrel.Elsewhere in the region, Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average fell 1.53%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index fell 1.79%, South Korea’s Kospi closed down 2.28%, Singapore’s Straits Times Index added 0.07% and China’s CSI 300 Index fell 0.86%.
