Rapper Kanye West said he terminated the contract between his company Yeezy and Gap Inc. in part because “they have a lot of commitments to China,” and he wanted to bring industry back to America.

Rapper Kanye West said Thursday on CNBC’s “Closing Bell” that he terminated the contract between his company Yeezy and Gap Inc. in part because “they have a lot of commitments to China,” and he wanted to bring industry back to America.

West said, “It was always a dream of mine to be at the Gap and to bring the best product possible to the masses. And I always talked to them about doing products for $20, like the best product in the world designed at the same level of the top fashion houses in the world at $20 for the people. And so we went through three years. You know, honestly, there’s always like struggles and back and forth when you’re trying to build something new and integrate teams.

He added, “‘They have a lot of commitments to China. We wanted to do localized manufacturing, which is completely possible with the factories I’m buying here in California. We can actually bring industry back to America.”

He needs to call out LB James on his profiteering from China. Then we really might see progress on getting all our industry back in the USA!

Suddenly Kanye has rocketed up in my estimation.

And people say he’s crazy

I've got questions...

He should get these 2 to rep him!

Biggest lie on here today, he wasn’t getting a big enough cut!

Nice change, someone willing to take a hit to say 'Bugger off' to China and Xinnie.

I go back and forth about how I feel about Kanye. I believe he is a good soul, and is trying to find his way like we all are. He needs to shred a few relationships though that are not good for him. I wish him the best.

Y’all look a sweaty as he does now! The recording label and the distributor that he is on (((making all that bag))) is a foreign owned company and it’s cross-owned wait for it. By a Chinese company! His music is not USmademusic

I respect that! More should follow suit including the POTUS! China clearly owns this Country & our leaders should be concentrating on American made which will produce more jobs! Maybe when we need masks we won’t have to pay & beg China to make them for us next time!

Forgive me if I don't fully trust Kanye's motivations.
