But the gender pay gap isthan the workforce average – so when these women get jobs they soon find themselves earning less than their male peers, said Dr Sherry Bawa, a Curtin University researcher who studies the problem.

Dr Vicki Huang, the Deakin University researcher who led the study, said: “If you’re an inventor, having a patent means you get more access to capital, you get promoted. It has this compound effect on your career.”

liammannix No real investment in Oz science means no jobs growth, means graduates job opportunities, and relative newcomers (women) take the heaviest hit.

liammannix This needs to be improved. pssts...also have you ever noticed most researchers are of Asian descent, but the Prof / Dr are usually old white male - just an observation & correlation is not causality and all.
