Help keep family & friends informed by sharing this articleThe Northern Territory's work safety watchdog has withdrawn charges laid against a Central Australian cattle company boss over a helicopter crash that killed an employee and seriously injured another.

These include funding a feasibility study into whether it would be viable to have a dedicated aircraft or organisation to respond to aircraft emergencies in remote areas in Central Australia. These measures are set to cost the company a minimum of $55,000, while the total amount spent on "work health and safety activities" by the company following the incident was more than $1.1 million, according to NT Worksafe.

"The enforceable undertaking will further assist officers in understanding their duty under the act with respect to ensuring that safe systems of work are implemented in the workplace," NT Worksafe executive director Peggy Cheong said.found Mr Taylor has a blood alcohol level of 0.14 at the time of the crash and the helicopter was likely overloaded.

However, the investigation concluded the likely cause of the crash was that the helicopter encountered turbulence while it was being flown unnecessarily low, with insufficient height to recover.

Gas company Santos withdraws Darwin Festival sponsorshipGas company Santos has withdrawn its sponsorship of the Darwin Festival following pressure from environmental activists. The festival received an offer from the McKinnon Family Foundation, offering $200,000 over the next two years. This offer was made on the terms that the festival ends its relationship with Santos and other fossil fuel companies. After being made aware of the opportunity Santos withdrew its sponsorship, ending its 30-year-long relationship. Good! They can put that money into something actually useful, like finding more gas! Well done Santos. Take the opportunity to review all other sponsorships & send a message to all the hypocritical ‘activists’ who live easily & readily with your products. Well done santos. Now let some green companies sponsor all the events you did. AINT GOING TO HAPPEN.
