There are 300,000 outstanding driving licence applications on the desks of the DVLA, with 77,000 of those delayed by more than three months 🔴 lauriehavelock

An increasing proportion of the delayed applications are being made up of drivers with medical conditions whose applications take longer to process. Many of these are vulnerable people who rely on their car in order to live their daily lives.

“We would urge the DVLA to publish monthly figures to show average processing times for medical driving licence applications. They added: “There are some delays in processing applications where drivers have told us of a medical condition but around half of the applications currently being processed are awaiting further information from a third party before a decision can be made.”Andrew Young, 69, lives near Worcester and was requested to apply for a class one HGV licence to drive his motorhome
