Elon Musk plans to charge iPhone app users 60% more for Twitter Blue, report says

on its website. But this could change for some users as Twitter plans to charge $11 for payments via its iPhone app, a person familiar with the situation told The Information.

Meanwhile, Twitter has proposed that users who pay for Blue through the website will be charged $7 per month, according to the publication. That's a $4 difference between using an Apple iPhone and the Twitter site to pay for the subscription feature, or just about 60%. The report said the price changes were likely to be a response to Apple's 30% levy on in-app transactions made through its App Store.Musk has previously said that people in different countries would pay different rates for Twitter Blue, but has since flip-flopped on various issues big and small, so it is not clear what South Africans will pay, or what the iPhone premium may be, if any, in SA.
