Pictured is the former Oliveto restaurant, which closed earlier this year.The two-level restaurant is expected to offer a casual bar setting downstairs with an all-day menu while the upper level will have a cozy dining space with sweeping views of Oakland.

The restaurant will begin with daily dinner service for now and eventually offer a lunch menu sometime next year. Acre's California- and Mediterranean-inspired menu will offer salads, whole roasted branzino as well as ribeye steak and rotisserie chicken, which is expected to be a fixture on the menu. Loaves of bread from Berkeley-based Starter Bakery will also be served at Acre.
