Sadly it was no longer a country in any term. Furthermore it is losing its role of free financial center as Beijing curbs its regulative and administrative independence. When you liberal media would learn to stick on the facts rather than always be under a delusion?
Hong Kong is no more a separate country than Califonia is an independent country. It is a special case of China with a bit more freedom but just a bit if you think about it kind of like California.
