Marikina City Mayor Marcelino “Marcy” Teodoro announced on Thursday, Jan. 19, the extension of the deadline for business permit renewal in a bid to help small entrepreneurs and micro, small, and medium enterprise operators adversely affected by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and other economic issues the country is currently facing.
In a Facebook post, the city government said Teodoro signed Ordinance No. 001, Series of 2023 or the Ordinance Extending the Period for the Renewal of Business Permits without Surcharges and Penalties, which extends the deadline for business permit renewal from Jan. 20 to March 31.
Aside from the said ordinance, Teodoro also signed other measures alleviating the burden of other business owners and residents in the city during these trying times. The mayor also inked an ordinance granting amnesty for business tax and real property tax payers.
