Google's AI, Quantum spinoff SandboxAQ raises $500M in funding

Quantum computing security startup SandboxAQ has reportedly raised $500 million in funding.

"Right now you have a lot of banks and pharma companies and governments still using these old protocols," Hidary told Reuters,"The average bank takes five to seven years to migrate over. ... Now, hopefully they'll do their important customer private information first." The company also sells powerful simulation software to accelerate development of drugs and materials.

It's not clear whether the funding reported by Reuters is entirely new. PitchBook Data shows SandboxAQ funding of the same amount and from the same investors in March 2022. SandboxAQ didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
