President Cyril Ramaphosa has for the first time delivered a strong message on the current situation prevailing in the eastern part of the DRC.

Millions have been displaced and thousands killed as M23 rebels and government forces fight a protracted war in that region.

Delivering opening remarks as the chair of the AU Peace and Security Council, Ramaphosa says the volatile situation has gone for too long and the situation is untenable. He described the prevailing atmosphere in the eastern part of the DRC as a humanitarian catastrophe and horrifying violation of human rights.

“The eastern DRC continues to experience periodic cycles of conflict and violence. To see people booted, women and girls violated.” “We have set ourselves an ambitious goal to Silence the Guns across Africa. To achieve this goal, we must show zero-tolerance for current and emerging conflicts and redouble our efforts to resolve them.”

That moment the country he has to lead and govern is in shambles... Ai some people!!!

So is that important for us south Africans. He failed to give his own country the important solutions for the current situation we are facing as south Africans. So what is so important about DRC.

Who cares what this spineless, weak excuse of a humanbeing has to say about anything?Cant fire grannies n grandpas in his cabinet but wants to talk about other countries.... this man is a joke

Charity begins at home, Mr President. Fix your own mess first before preaching to other countries.

Who cares? Let that country sort out it's own mess.

Even on a plane they advise u to secure your own mask first before helping fellow passengers... He should sort his own kak out before trying to help everyone else

This is what he left behind under his watch.. 1 - Murder and Rape 2 - Unemployment and Poverty 3 - Crime and Corruption 4 - Energy CRISIS 5 - Healthcare CRISIS ..etc

I think he is right since our new democracies Eastern Cape and many parts of us were left out you only hear about Gauteng thanks mister President 🙏

But he is complacent about crime in his own country

He fail to adress social ills that are occurring in the country but quick to talk about DRC.

What did he said? But he is falling to “ deliver a strong message “ to his counterpart and neighbor in Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
