New WARN filings at Autodesk, Pinterest, Salesforce and others this week demystify how many Bay Area layoffs were part of recently announced company downsizings.

New state filings have demystified just how many Bay Area workers lost their jobs in recently announced company downsizings.

California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filings dated on February 15 detailed a total of 712 job cuts at publicly traded Bay Area tech companies Salesforce, Pinterest, Workday, Autodesk and NetApp. Salesforce posted the most layoffs with 258 — 247 of them from the Salesforce Tower at 415 Mission St.

Workday had the second largest local cut with 196 at its 6110 Stoneridge Mall Rd. headquarters in Pleasanton, followed by 148 job cuts at San Jose-based NetApp's 3060 Olsen Dr. office. Meanwhile, San Rafael-based Autodesk cut 61 jobs from its One Market St. location, and Pinterest reduced its headcount at 651 Brannan St. in San Francisco by 49 positions.
