Alex Andrade, Milpitas' economic development director, has high hopes for a new district the company plans to create near its BART station.

The southern part of Milpitas that surrounds its BART station could be transformed over the next 20 years.for redeveloping 437 acres in that area of the city. The scheme, known as the Milpitas Metro Specific Plan, divides that area into five sections and lays out the city's vision for each one.
