While lending circles are a common financial tool in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean, the concept is new here in Canada.

Instead of assigning a score to a given portfolio using black-box technology, Bakshi’s firm articulates risk in terms of dollars and cents—and transparently lays out the criteria it uses to do so.
