The CHP said it could not confirm initial reports that a second vehicle was also traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes at the time of the collision.A second person was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.Traffic was backed up for miles on the westbound side of the freeway as the morning commute got underway. Motorists were being diverted at South Seventh Avenue.
