Participants at the recently signed Business Facilitation (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 2023 have expressed confidence in its capacity to enhance the ease of doing business in both public and private sectors.

They noted that the Act incorporated the essential provisions promoting accountability and transparency for government agencies and business operations.

Participants further stated that the Act was passed following the collaboration of NBA-SBL and the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, among others including federal, state, and local governments, judiciary and the private sector. Oduwole explained that the amendment to the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 directed the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission to ensure that application processes were fully automated.

Adefulu said: “As lawyers and business professionals, we have a critical role to play in ensuring that our clients and businesses use the Act and are well versed with its provisions so that we can contribute to the growth and development of the economy, create new jobs and enhance the quality of life of all Nigerians.”
