& Electric filed a joint proposal this week for a flat-rate charge based on income.
The plan would break monthly bills in two parts: The fixed-income rate, plus a reduced usage charge based on consumption. Under the proposal, it would cost as little as $15 a month for low-income households and up to $85 more for month for households making more than $180,000 a year. While that specific cost would go up, the actual electricity rate would go down by a third. It means customers could control their bill somewhat - if they're able to reduce electricity use.
The California Public Utilities Commission would have to approve the proposal and make a final decision by mid-2024. The fixed rate could start showing up on bills as soon as 2025.
So if you're low income, waste all the electricity you want! Leave the lights on, the tv running the radio, too, leave the doors open with the heat or air conditioning on. Teach the kids to waste it all, to Be a Democrat voter and someone else will pay all your Bill's for you!

I’m certainly not very wealthy, but I do believe the wealthier so pay a lot more because the consume a lot more. I guess nowadays if you work hard and make a decent living, you end up paying more and should have just settled for a mediocre job and give mediocre efforts.
I love this because there is no way I can afford my light bill. It is due by tuesday at five p.m. which means I will not have any electricity for a while. Programs are backed up and way behind on helping because there is so many people applying help. Something has to change.
