The media organization announced the shock departure in a Monday morning press release, stating Carlson and Fox News Media “agreed to part ways.”
“We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor,” the organization said. Carlson had been the prime time host of his eponymous program, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” since 2016. His past show was this past Friday, April 21. Fox News said an interim program, “Fox News Tonight,” will air in its place, “helmed by rotating FOX News personalities” until a new host is named.
Neither Fox News Media nor Tucker Carlson immediately responded to the Toronto Star’s request for comment and questions surrounding the circumstances of Carlson’s departure.
