Eskom has announced that load shedding has been suspended until 16:00 on Tuesday"due to an improvement in available generation capacity".
During the low-demand periods overnight, load shedding may be suspended for a few hours to manage the system, Eskom said. Thereafter Stage 4 will kick in from 05:00 until 16:00 on Tuesday. This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice. Stage 4 and 5 load shedding to continue for the rest of the week
Eskom said that while a generating unit each at Arnot, Camden, Kendal and Palmiet power stations were returned to service, a unit each at Matla and Tutuka power stations were taken out of service due to breakdowns. Stage 4 load shedding will be implemented from 16:00 on Sunday until 05:00 on Monday. Thereafter, Stage 3 will be implemented from 05:00 until 16:00 on Monday, followed by Stage 5 from 16:00 until 05:00 on Tuesday.
Stage 3 loadshedding is expected to be implemented between 05:00 and 16:00 on Saturday, with Stage 1 expected over the same time period on Sunday.
