REA Group economist Anne Flaherty has recognised a “shift in the sentiment of sellers” with more properties being brought onto the market.\n\nThe auction value is up about 24 to 56 per cent in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.\n\n“Sellers were feeling pretty negative about market conditions at the start of this year,” she told Sky News Australia.\n\n“Now they are exhibiting a lot more positivity, they are feeling much more comfortable and confident that if they bring their properties to market they are going to get a good result.”\n\nMs Flaherty added that seasonality also comes into play with people more likely to sell over Spring.\n\nIn partnership with realestate.com.au
