The S&P 500 climbed 40.23 points, or 1.5%, to 2,783.30. The Dow rose 200.64 points, or 0.8%, to 25,650.88; earlier in the day, it was down as much as 242 points as Boeing slumped. Investors are still waiting for more details on any potential trade deal between the United States and China.
