Federal government rules out cancelling Chinese company’s Port of Darwin lease

Landbridge was awarded a 99-year lease on the port in 2015 by the Northern Territory however at the time the US Obama administration warned the Turnbull government about the deal over concerns the company may have had links to the People's Liberation Army of China.

The government accepted the advice provided and confirmed"monitoring of security arrangements around the Port of Darwin will continue."
