Duncan McConchie, chief executive of Laggan, won the tourism and visitor management award

for creating a rural destination of excellence with tourism, hospitality and sustainability at its core.

The awards, now in their seventh year, aim to recognise the work of businesses in supporting the economy, jobs, education, wildlife and the environment. They are organised by Scottish Land and Estates and NatureScot, with the awards ceremony held in Edinburgh. Chief executive of SLE, Sarah-Jane Laing, said: “Huge congratulations go to our Helping It Happen awards winners who exemplify everything that is great about rural Scotland.”
