John German had not been looking to make a splash when he commissioned an examination of pollution from diesel cars back in 2013. The exam compared what came out of their exhausts, during the lab tests that were required by law, with emissions on the road under real driving conditions.

Pity they can't figure out a cheap or subsidised filter for those cars. Even better, that could be their punishment for lying.
Feeling guilty having diesel. Cost of new electric car with lease of batteries is too much as well.
Between the old rail lines and coal mine execs campaigning to cover up coal dangers, Exxon straight up hiding fossil fuel research and VW trying to cover up their emissions scandal...I truly don't understand how or why we keep relying on the private sector to 'self regulate.'
