Lincoln and Greater Lincolnshire news

North Kesteven District Council has approved a unique business venture in North Hykeham, paving the way for the opening of Soggy Dogz, a canine hydrotherapy centre offering interactive swim classes for dogs, providing both fun and therapeutic benefits.

Located at a unit on Paving Way, Soggy Dogz will transform the space from its previous commercial use to a dedicated spot for canine wellness and exercise.Exactly a year to the day since West Lindsey District Council committed to purchase RAF Scampton, a plan foiled by the Home Office’s asylum seeker proposal, that dream of £300 million of local investment could yet be about to make a triumphant comeback.

365 days ago, RAF Scampton looked set to enter a new dawn of history and heritage, as West Lindsey District Council outlined its intention to buy the base from the Ministry of Defence and plough ahead with Scampton Holdings Ltd’s £300 million vision for the area. For the second time in four months, the banks of the River Witham near Fiskerton have been breached, leading villagers to blame the reoccurring floods on the volume of water flowing from Lincoln.

After heavy snow and rainfall swept across the country on Thursday, the previously damaged river bank, compromised by similar floods last October after Storm Babet, was breached once again, leading to the flooding of nearby paddocks in Short Ferry.
