Trabzonspor are said to be keen on snapping him up as a free agent when his Ibrox deal comes to an end.

Andy Walker reckons letting Borna Barisic leave for nothing is 'not the best business move' from Rangers.

Last season, the Ibrox side saw Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent move on as free agents despite being keen to hold on to the long serving duo. Both had been touted as players who could potentially bring in big fees at their peak for the Govan outfit - but both ended up winding down their contracts and moved on to Santos and Fenerbahce respectively

This season is no different with Barisic looking like he will depart Ibrox. Ridvan Yilmaz has been favoured of late under Philippe Clement with the Croatia international reportedly agreeing terms with Trabzonspor. John Lundstram is another out of contract in the summer with the likes of Barry Ferguson and Kenny Miller insisting he is one they MUST keep at the club beyond the summer. Walker told Go Radio: "I think he has been really good.

"His crossing just as a left-back has been really good. It is probably not the best business move to let someone as good as that go to the end of their contract and move for nothing. Ideally you want to try and get money for any player who has been there for that amount of time before he comes to the end of his contract."

Jamie Murphy - who used to play for Rangers and is now plying his trade under Celtic hero Scott Brown at Ayr United - added: "I think his time has probably come to move on. He's been a great servant over the last couple of years. Won some big games and obviously won the Premiership at one point. I don't think he goes with any bad wishes from any Rangers fans."
