Former prime minister Scott Morrison pushed $500 million project before business case done, the defence minister will visit Ukraine and OJ Simpson dies.

This morning the Australian government released its Heat-Health Risk Index project, which lets you look it up to an accuracy of about three city blocks. It’s the most detailed heat mapping that’s been done in Australia to date because it uses community-level data such as housing and access to transportation, socioeconomic and health status, and factors like vegetation and sea breezes to create a risk score.

The maps have been developed the Australian Climate Service, a partnership between the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, the Australian Bureau of Statistics and Geoscience Australia.Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy Jenny McAllister said the work will assist locally led climate adaptation.“The Albanese Government will continue to do everything we can to reduce our emissions and limit the impact of climate change,” McAllister said in a statement.
