Igot received the medal for her service to heritage and volunteerism. The Annapolis Royal town crier was wearing the medal May 11 during the first outdoor farmers and traders market of the season in town where she provides weekly announcements. Igot was one of 28 Nova Scotia recipients, including three from the Annapolis Valley, to receive the recognition. Cpl.
