On Thursday morning shoppers filed into the temporary structure at North Third and Verbeke streets in Harrisburg for the first time.
A fraction of the nearly two dozen vendors from the brick building joined the tent. Several vendors operate at other area markets, while a few opened storefronts and others closed. Originally, the structure was supposed to open late last summer but faced delays. It was erected in the fall but didn’t open because key construction work, mainly plumbing and electric hookups, had stalled due to a lack of bids.
She said several events are planned, including an occasion to mark the fire’s 1-year-anniversary in July and a tent naming contest.
