Readers favor increasing voting; blame Congress for no immigration action; can’t believe the Supreme Court is allowing bump stocks; urge permitting reform for power lines; and point out that ERCOT is not reliable.

Biden’s policy is a family friendly measure that stands in sharp contrast to Donald Trump’s inhumane effort to split up families, which he will surely do again if reelected. The Supreme Court thinks turning semiautomatic weapons into automatic weapons via bump stocks is guaranteed by our Constitution. It’s not bad enough that our country experiences more gun violence than most other modern countries. It’s not enough that we lose our children to gun violence on a daily basis.

What many people don’t realize is that the building of clean or cleaner energy, whether renewable or nuclear, is impeded by endless judicial and bureaucratic permitting procedures. That is especially true for the building of power lines, which has an approval process of 10 to 20 years.
