Among the Cedar Fair amusement parks affected by the Six Flags merger are Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom outside Allentown.

The merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags is expected to be complete by July 1, the companies announced Tuesday.SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Fair announced it expects its planned merger with Six Flags to be complete by Monday, July 1.

As previously announced, Richard Zimmerman, current president and CEO of Cedar Fair, will serve as president and CEO of the new company, which will be called Six Flags. Selim Bassoul, current president and CEO of Six Flags, will serve as executive chairman of the new company’s board of directors..

The new company will be headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, home to a majority of Cedar Fair’s executives, although the firm’s headquarters is still legally in Sandusky. Once the merger is complete, the company plans to “maintain significant finance and administrative operations in Sandusky,” according to the press statement.joins two of the world’s largest amusement park companies, with a combined 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks and nine resorts across 17 states, Canada and Mexico.
