PARIS — The French national rail company SNCF said Friday that high-speed lines were hit by several “malicious acts” that heavily disrupted traffic on the day of the high-risk Olympics opening ceremony.

Government officials denounced the incidents hours before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, which are happening around France, though there was no immediate sign of a link to the Games. The Chancellor will detail a shortfall in Government funding plans that could pave the way for tax rises in the autumn budget.The pan-European STOXX 600 index was flat at 508.9 points by 0710 GMT and was set to log its second consecutive week of losses after it hit its lowest over two months in the previous session. Capgemini lost 6.1% after the French IT consulting group expects its annual revenue to fall compared with the earlier expectation of at least maintaining stable growth.
