He was also allegedly assaulted by the eight officers on the N1 highway in Johannesburg, in July last year.
The witness told the court that he was sleeping in the back seat of a blue VW Polo heading from Potchefstroom to Pretoria. He says he was awakened by a tap on the shoulder by another occupant in the car when he saw firearms being pointed at them from three cars driving alongside theirs. The witness says the rear windscreen was shattered by shots which were fired leading to the car stopping.
He says he was forcibly pulled out of the vehicle and was hit with a firearm causing him to lose consciousness.The witness confirmed that it was the very same video that sparked his attention a day after the incident.
