The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy announced that both grades of petrol will drop by 15 cents per litre. Diesel prices will also decrease by 28 and 17 cents per litre, depending on the grade.
Additionally, the department noted that a litre of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 29 cents at the retail level. Robert Maake, from the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy says, “The maximum price of LP gas will decrease by 14 cents per kilogram. The reason for these adjustments is the stronger rand against the US dollar in the period under review and slightly higher oil prices on average compared to the previous cycle. The slate levy remains zero in the price structures on both petrol and diesel.
