Thousands of Germans have flocked to North Carolina in recent years, aided by investments from Siemens and Daimler.

A record number of ultra-high-net-worth and high-net-worth individuals in the States are applying for second passports as a safety net against the prospect of civil turmoil due to the U.S. political landscape, with many looking across the Atlantic.the prospect of a Trump second term forced them to look for properties in Spain and Portugal.When Hilgenstock first moved to the U.S. in 2001, he was confident the outcome of an election had little impact on people’s everyday lives.
