'Govt, private sector partnership crucial in ensuring sustainable energy supply' via SABCNewsOnline

Energy Minister Jeff Radebe says cooperation between government and private sector in the energy sector is important.says a partnership between government and the private sector is crucial in ensuring a sustainable supply of energy in the country. Radebe addressed the 19th African Utility and Power Week in Cape Town.

In his opening address Radebe stressed the need for government and the business sector to work together in exploring opportunities to ensure that all citizens benefit from the affordable and clean energy. “If you look at the energy sector, the partnership between government and the private sector has bode very well in the renewable sector where we talk today more than R250 billion of investment has now been injected into the South African economy ensuring that almost over 6 000 megawatts of electricity come from the renewable sector indicating the important role of the partnership.”
