Nottingham City Council were given the money by the government, with work set to finish in December

Motorists and commuters are experiencing long delays on a main road in Nottingham, as works to install a cycle path continue. The segregated, two-way cycle path is currently under construction on Porchester Road after Nottingham City Council was awarded more than £1.7million from the Active Travel Fund.

Bus operator Nottingham City Transport has now informed its passengers of diversions that will be in place between October 11 and November 11. It said: "Between 11th and 17th October, Morley Road in Carlton Valley is to be closed for carriageway works. During the specified time, the Porchester Road, Morley Road northbound, Hillview Road southeastbound, Prospect Road eastbound and Foxhill Road West southbound stops will not be served.

The stops include Thorneywood Mount Top southbound, Wheatfields Road soutwestbound, Thirlmere Close, southwestbound, Edginton Street southwestbound, Dowson Street, southwestbound, Ridgway Street, southwestbound, Ridgway Street, northeastbound, Dowson Street, northbound, Edginton Street, northbound, Thirlmere Close, northeastbound, Wheatfields Road, northeastbound and Thorneywood Mount Top northeastbound.
